Taking the English Test, whether it is IELTS, OET, or PTE, means a difficult one for many participants. As experience would tell us, many test takers already spent lots of money just to hurdle one of these exams. Thus, on this post, allow me to share with you a few tips and materials that would give you additional ideas especially on PTE Test.

We all know that PTE Tests nowadays have gradually gained popularity due to some reasons like its results are quicker to access comparing to other tests like IELTS and OET. Aside from that point, this kind of test is computer based in which it then becomes an advantage for one who is familiar with computers.

Here are basic ideas on PTE Academic Test:

1. Anybody can take the test as long as you are 16 years of age. If one is 16 or 17 years of age, a parental consent is required to be able to take the exams. Furthermore, the test covers various areas so it doesn't really check on a limited and specific area but somehow what is being measured is one's capability on varying coverages such as listening, reading, speaking and writing.

2. One good preparation also is to make use of the free samples of the actual test on the provided website: www.pearsonpte.com and if allowed, you can also purchase your own set of the test so that you can have a feel of how the test could be in actual setting.

3. All of the four areas of the test (reading, writing, listening, speaking) are weighted similarly. And it does not require also that one must come from an English speaking country to book the test. This test is designed even for non-native speakers of English from almost 100 countries so in other words, it is recommended just for anybody who is willing and interested to take it.

4. One can take the test from any of the testing centres in the world. If one is taking it outside his country of residence, maybe he  will be asked to provide a passport of his country of origin. In addition, he will also be asked to provide ID so it is better to secure one that is validly recognised by PTE.

More tips will be given on the coming posts. Good luck to all the test takers.
